I will either have to pay someone to fix my computer (I'm on a different computer right now because mine is ruined) or buy a new one. Oh and as an added bonus they installed a phony anti-virus program on my computer that won't go away and says "You need to scan your computer click here to sign up!!" And this program cannot be uninstalled through the control panel. I can't post the links to the websites I am directed to because it looks like I am spamming this page, but I can't get my homepage to change back it always reverts to the redirected page. When I finally get to my home page I have adds popping up which I never had before with the browser/adblocker I use. Download it right here.I downloaded one thing and my computer has been hijacked and redirected to another site. In all other respects, CCleaner works as advertised and can really help fine-tune your PC. You can uncheck that option, but it seems counterintuitive for a gunk-cleaner to add its own gunk to your system. The only thing I don't like about CCleaner is the Yahoo toolbar it wants to add to your browser upon installation.

The software also includes a rudimentary uninstaller and startup-program manager. (Alas, there's no undelete option, so proceed at your own risk.) You can then run a scan of the Registry and let CCleaner wipe out the detritus (this time with a backup, thankfully). Freeware favorite CCleaner promises to kick all that crapola to the curb, leaving your system cleaner and, theoretically, faster.ĬCleaner scans your machine for temp files and other clutter, then shows you what it found and gives you the option of deleting it all. I'm not talking about old photos and Word documents, but rather the system-sapping stuff that Windows accumulates over time: temporary system files, unnecessary Registry entries, unwanted Web histories, and the like.
